A glass sensor is useful in case you are worried about an intruder breaking glass to enter a building. Sometimes a security breach can take place where a window is not forced open, but broken instead. In that case a contact sensor may not detect a break in.
The glass sensor syncs wirelessly to your main control panel, and the alarm will trigger normally if a sudden, loud sound is detected. Covers multiple windows in the same room. The sensitivity of the glass break sensor can also be adjusted for your environment.

The unit is easy to install. I find that a jar of broken glass works well to test the unit. I find it easier than the ruler pop on the window.
Works as advertised. Very easy to install and tests well. Thankfully have not had to see it in action on an actual burglary yet. Sensitivity adjustment is a nice feature.
We bought a couple to go with our system, but ended up not using them. When purchased we were not aware of the placement requirements. We had planned to install them right below the glass area to protect (handy wall plugs there). However, there is evidently a directional mic setup in the sensor and the front of the unit must be pointing toward the glass to protect. Unfortunately, the layout of our house just doesn’t allow for good install spots opposite the target glass. I suggest making your layout a consideration before purchasing. We used the motion sensors to cover the target glass area instead which works fine. I’m sure the glass breakage sensers will work fine as everything we used in our system did.
The glass break sensor works as described. I believe tha wiring to the unit could be strengthened. A secondary clip that holds the wire so it cannot get pulled out of the sensor would be a significant improvement. I had to reconnect the wiring on one of my sensors because it had become disconnected from the internal clip down panel.
As advertised, very sensitive

I have French doors. Would i need one sensor for each door?
Hello Anthony. The Glass break sensor can cover a 50 square foot area, so it can work with both sides of the french doors but if you have a separate french door in a different room you would need a different Glass Break Sensor. Thanks, Jessica Fortress Security Store
